We believe that the word "parking" is going to be replaced by "charging" in the future. The vehicle itself makes the reservation (Internet of Things), start contactless charging itself and the energy comes from the sun.

"Just go to the gas station to fill up" will change. You do not want to go somewhere to charge. You want to charge where you are, at home and at work. Where you charge, you also want to generate your energy. The solution we provide in a free E-book, is a solar carport. The so-called Parkasol, with solar panels and charging station for electric vehicles.

The free Parkasol e-book is the first step in our mission to "make charging of electric vehicles simple, reliable and durable in locations where vehicles stop for more than two hours." In the next e-book we are going to explain how an existing EV charging station can be linked to our reservation platform. By connecting to our reservation platform drivers can easily find the best local chargingpoint and make a reservations from a smartphone or PC. The chargingpoint owners decide the price and availability. In this way we ensure that electric vehicles can always be on the road with a full battery.

Amsterdam is getting busier and as institutions and entrepreneurs we also contribute to it. Do we have a good view of all the transport movements that our suppliers make to supply our locations? After research by Urban Logistics researchers and students, it is clear that the suppliers of the University of Amsterdam (UvA) and the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (AUAS/HvA) go as many as 70 times around the world for the delivery of goods at the UvA and AUAS locations.

In July, the UvA and the AUAS started with a couple of suppliers to deliver goods at the locations through a logistics hub on the border of the city. In this hub orders are bundled and then transported into town with clean transport. The municipality of Amsterdam also has a part of their products to be delivered via a hub.

In order to make a noticeable difference to the city of Amsterdam, it is necessary that more institutions and entrepreneurs look the same way to their own stocks and transport flows. The municipality of Amsterdam, the UvA and the AUAS have already gained some experience in the field of smart and durable supplying. We are happy to share our experiences and the pros and cons with you so that you can discover the possibilities for your organization.

Vanaf 24 juli starten de werkzaamheden aan de A10 West, wat automobilisten hinder op gaat leveren. De FietsCoalitie, een samenwerking van verschillende bedrijven en overheden, heeft hier een oplossing voor bedacht. Met hun ‘A10 West dicht? Ga toch fietsen!’ zomeractie kunnen automobilisten een e-bike winnen voor de duur van de werkzaamheden aan de A10 West om zo de afstand tussen huis en het werk op een andere wijze, comfortabel af te leggen. Op deze manier wil De FietsCoalitie ook het fietsgebruik in de regio Zaanstad en Amsterdam stimuleren.

Maak kans op een e-bike voor zes weken!

De werkzaamheden door Rijkswaterstaat aan de A10 West bij Amsterdam beslaan een periode van zes weken. De eerste drie weken is de Noord-Zuid richting afgesloten en de overige drie weken de richting van Zuid naar Noord. Het verkeer zal omgeleid worden met alle hinder van dien. Om automobilisten een goed alternatief te bieden heeft De FietsCoalitie de campagne ‘A10 West dicht? Ga toch fietsen!’ opgezet.

In samenwerking met deelfiets bedrijf Urbee verloten zij 60 e-bikes voor de zes weken waarin de werkzaamheden plaatsvinden (10 fietsen per week). Daarnaast maken 10 personen kans op een Stromer, een high speed pedelec, die wordt geleverd door QicQ. De periode van de werkzaamheden valt voor de automobilisten precies in de zomervakantie, waardoor zij de gelegenheid krijgen om de e-bike ook in de vakantie te proberen.

E-bike als alternatief voor de auto

Niet alleen wordt fietsen met een e-bike een stuk comfortabeler, ook zijn langere afstanden relatief snel (20 t/m 40 kilometer per uur) en gemakkelijker af te leggen. Daarnaast is de e-bike efficiënter dan een auto in de stad. De e-bike biedt een prima alternatief voor de auto bij woon-werk afstanden van wel 20 tot 40 kilometer. Daarnaast is de e-bike beter voor het milieu, de gezondheid en levert het een bijdrage aan het reduceren van files. De regio heeft een zeer goed fietsnetwerk wat fietsen hier nog aangenamer maakt.

“Naast dat wij automobilisten met deze actie een comfortabel alternatief bieden, is dit natuurlijk een uitgelezen kans om het fietsgebruik te stimuleren. Het verloten van een e-bike in plaats van een gewone fiets zal hierbij helpen. Het is immers prettiger fietsen met het gevoel de wind in de rug te hebben, dan er tegenin te moeten trappen. Je legt daardoor sneller en gemakkelijker grotere afstanden af, ook dus van en naar je werk.” aldus Helma Schenkeveld, partner in de FietsCoalitie.

Over De Fietscoalitie

De FietsCoalitie is een samenwerkingsverband tussen een aantal private partijen, de gemeenten Amsterdam en Zaanstad en diverse ondernemersverenigingen. De FietsCoalitie heeft als doel om vertraging tussen woon-werkritten te verminderen, bereikbaarheid van de regio te verbeteren en de lucht schoon te houden. Dit doen zij door, in samenwerking met lokale partijen en overheden, campagnes op te zetten die het fietsgebruik stimuleren.

Deze acties hebben met name betrekking op mensen die dagelijks voor het werk in of door het gebied Westpoort, Sloterdijk, Amsterdam-Noord en Zaanstad reizen. De FietsCoalitie wordt ondersteund door het programma Beter Benutten Metropoolregio Amsterdam. Binnen dit programma nemen het bedrijfsleven, het Rijk en regionale en lokale overheden tot 2018 ruim 30 maatregelen om de reistijd op de drukste knelpunten in de spits met 10 procent te verbeteren. Green IT Amsterdam was present at this high-level conference (http://amsterdamv2gconference.eu/) on Electric Vehicles and Smart IT Solutions.

It was a unique opportunity for one of our projects, EV Energy (https://amsterdamsmartcity.com/projects/ev-energy), to introduce its vision and goals while getting in touch with relevant stakeholders of the wider Amsterdam region.

Julie Chenadec and Vasiliki Georgiadou represented our consortium and collected experiences and insights on how different cities and countries have initiated a Vehicle-2-Grid approach, combining Renewable Energy and Smart IT Infrastructure for the roll-out of Electric Vehicles.

Ms Georgiadou wrote an article that highlights the importance of revising policies to boost the uptake of EVs by both the industry and society at large.

He addresses several challenges commonly faced during smart projects; for example, the collaboration of organisations with different agendas and the involvement of different stakeholders and how to divide returns and risks. The world’s first virtual train track is unveiled in China. The smart bus, or driverless train, is equipped with sensors that can read the dimensions of roads and plan its own route. Like a train, it’s modular and carriages can be added on; but like a bus, it runs on the road. It follows white-dotted lines on the road, and therefore a train track does not need to be laid. This makes the infrastructure much cheaper and therefore accessible to many more cities than standard railways or metro systems.

“In 2025 moet het stedelijk vervoer in de Metropoolregio Amsterdam emissievrij zijn”. Dat is één van de ambities waar de Amsterdam Economic Board zich voor inzet. Één van de speerpunten om deze ambitie te bereiken is Mobility as a Service (MaaS).

We gaan toe naar een digitale dienst voor reizigers, waarbij ‘smart agents’ verplaatsingen via fiets, trein, tram/metro, deelauto en taxi op maat aanbieden en ‘real time’ ingespeeld wordt op persoonlijke behoefte en voorkeuren.

Ontwikkelingen rond MaaS zijn zowel landelijk als binnen de Metropoolregio Amsterdam (MRA) nog relatief onbekend en partijen in de regio vinden elkaar nog niet gemakkelijk. Om de adoptie van MaaS in de regio te versnellen, organiseert de Board een serie van vijf bijeenkomsten, waarin we aanbieders van mobiliteit, werkgevers, overheden, service providers, kennisinstellingen, belangenorganisaties en technologiepartners uitdagen om mee te denken en een bijdrage te leveren aan deze versnelling.

Today the European Commission has unveiled a package of proposals designed to modernise European mobility and transport. The aim is to help the sector to remain competitive in a socially fair transition towards clean energy and digitalisation. 'Europe on the Move' is a wide-ranging set of initiatives that will make traffic safer; encourage fairer road charging; reduce CO2 emissions, air pollution and congestion; cut red-tape for businesses; fight illicit employment and ensure proper conditions and rest times for workers. The long-term benefits of these measures will extend far beyond the transport sector by promoting jobs, growth and investment, strengthening social fairness, widening consumers' choices and firmly putting Europe on the path towards low emissions.

Zeventien CEO’s tekenden tijdens het CEO ontbijt van Green Business Club Zuidas de Intentieverklaring Elektrisch Taxiverbruik. Hiermee geven zij aan voortaan voorkeur te geven aan elektrisch vervoer bij zakelijk taxigebruik. Ook wethouder Verkeer en Vervoer Pieter Litjens was aanwezig en gaf een toelichting op Mobility as a Service (MAAS) als oplossing voor goede bereikbaarheid van Zuidas. GBC Zuidas organiseert jaarlijks een CEO ontbijt om duurzaamheid bij de top van het bedrijfsleven onder de aandacht te brengen.
