Innovation mission circular economy

Featured image

From 24 to 29 September 2017, the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO), in collaboration with the municipality of Almere, the Netherlands Circular Hotspot (HCH) and the Netherlands Trade and Investment Office (NTIO), organizes an innovation mission on circular economy in Taiwan. The objective of this mission is twofold, first to gain better insight into the circular economic developments in Taiwan and second to explore and / or exploit opportunities for long-term cooperation with Taiwan.

Increasing attention for circular economy in Taiwan
The Netherlands is known in Taiwan as a leader in the circular economy. A topic appointed by the new government in Taiwan as one of the national pillars. The Taiwanese government wants to make great strides in implementing circular principles and design strategies in the coming years, drawing on billions of euros for a sustainable future. The Netherlands houses a growing number of companies and knowledge institutions with unique circular innovations and can support Taiwan very well in transition to a circular economy, for example in the area of:

- Circular design and architecture
- Circular built environment
- Circular water
- Circular scan
- Circular procurement
- Circular training program

For whom?
As the Netherlands has developed a lot of knowledge and technology in the field of circular economy (and this is often missing in Taiwan), companies, knowledge institutions and other interested organizations can respond to the opportunities that are now available. We are starting from the Netherlands to build a multiannual cooperation with Taiwan on this subject. A first step is this knowledge and technological innovation mission.

Concept Mission Program
The mission program is under development and will be completed in the coming weeks, based on your possible participation and specific wishes. Currently, the concept program includes visits to Taipei, Taichung and Tainan for participation in various CE forums and matchmaking sessions. There are also various site visits and round tables (with local authorities) planned.

Relationship with Almere
The municipality of Almere has good relations with Taiwan, which takes place in the cities ties with Taipei, Tainan and Taichung. Mayor Weerwind will act as executive delegation leader during this mission.

Cost
The cost of participating in this mission is € 250, - per person.
Participation includes the collective program, transfers from and to program items, lunch and dinner as mentioned in the program. Excluded are travel and subsistence expenses (hotels and intercontinental flights) and all individual costs.

Interest and registration
Are you interested in cooperating with Taiwan in the field of Circular Economy and would you like to participate in this innovation mission? Then sign up via the registration form before Wednesday 15 August 2017. However, do not wait too long as the number of participants in the mission is limited. After signing up, you will receive a confirmation of your participation and will be contacted about your specific requirements regarding the program.

Do you have questions about the innovation mission or need more information? Send an email to innovationsmissies@rvo.nl
