Who wants to join the IoT Greener City Challenge?

Many citizens and city councils want to do something tangible to tackle climate change and improve local air quality. By taking part in this challenge, you can do something worthwhile for our planet by providing new, digital and smart solutions that use the Internet of Things and other IT innovations to reduce the environmental footprint of our cities.

This is the second ‘Decarbonathon’ Challenge after the successful first edition that took place last winter. This saw 230 teams from all over the world compete in the wake of COP21 to find new solutions to reducing CO2 emissions in cities. A follow-up initiative is presented here in which you are given the opportunity to take part in the Internet of Things Challenge for Greener Cities!

As one of the 15 finalist teams, you will have access to coaching by a team of experts (from the different partners) and the opportunity to pitch your idea in front of experts and a range of European companies and public stakeholders, including the European Union and the World Economic Forum. All three winners will have the opportunity to present their project during the ENGIE Innovation Week in June 2017 and get their project incubated ‘on-line’. This challenge also gives you the chance to win €10,000 worth of prizes.
