Sympower was founded to help achieve a low carbon future. The biggest challenge facing the electricity system is the difficulty of meeting demand at all times – balancing the system – without fossil fuel plants. Sympower does this by making electricity usage flexible in real time.

Electricity system operators can balance the supply and demand of electricity via Sympower’s platform as opposed to the current way of balancing the system, which is mostly done with polluting fossil fuel plants running in an inefficient way. Sympower reduces the need for highly polluting “peaking” plants, allows existing plants to run more efficiently, and facilitates the integration of renewables, all in all significantly reducing carbon emissions and enabling a transition to a low-carbon, high-tech future.
