Westpoort Warmte

Westpoort Warmte (WPW) is a collaboration with the City of Amsterdam and Vattenval. The core activity of WPW is the storage, distribution and supply of city heating, generated by the Afval Energie Bedrijf (Waste Energy Company).

WPW makes use of the waste heat from its waste disposal installation in order to reduce CO2 emissions. On average, CO2 emissions are reduced by 75% in comparison to heating generated by means of burning gas.
