London's rapid catch-up

London lags behind Amsterdam at present in its smart city efforts but there is now a new urgency, stemming from the mayor's office. This is reflected in ambitious zero carbon and zero waste goals. Projects are multiplying and there is a major effort to scale up.

From Waste to Table: Instock's Dutch mission

Is it possible to build a sustainable business around food waste? Founded in 2014, Instock now has 100 staff, three restaurants (in Amsterdam, The Hague and Utrecht, with another two planned for this year) and a host of other activities. It was great to catch up with Instock's community manager, Djaja van den Berg to talk about what inspired the founders, what has been achieved and what’s next.
