The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Meetups are an accessible platform to learn about and work on the SDGs in an entrepreneurial way, facilitating collaboration and exchanging knowledge. It is an opportunity to meet social entrepreneurs, SMEs, independent professionals and established organisations working toward the same goal.
This month’s Meetup will focus on SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities. This goal creates a future in which our cities are inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable – with access to basic services, energy, housing, transportation and more. Anyone who is working toward achieving this is welcome to join!
ROEF AMSTERDAM | Did you know Amsterdam’s uncultivated rooftops add up to 25 times the size of the Vondelpark? Green rooftops contribute to biodiversity, air quality and adaptability to extreme weather. That’s why ROEF organises an annual rooftop festival to inspire the creation of green spaces in Amsterdam – on the city’s rooftops!
KNOWLEDGE MILE PARK | Knowledge Mile is the Amsterdam's innovation district, running from the Amstel Station to the city hall. It consists of 30K residents, 60K students and around 200 companies, hotels, museums and municipal institutions working together to solve urban issues relevant to this area and beyond. The Knowledge Mile Park project creates more green spaces on the pavements, facades and rooftops to turn this area into the highest and longest city park in Amsterdam.
YOU! | The event will continue with an interactive process facilitated by Impact Hub Community Catalyst Yeliz Mert. In this part of the event, we will generate insights for overcoming challenges and accelerating solutions for SDG11.
