Do you have an innovative circular product or project and want to show it at the circulair expo? Contact Ward Mesman at w.mesman@amsterdam.nl
What is the goal of the project?
The goal of the project is to provide a podium for organisations within Amsterdam trying to realise a circular economy in Amsterdam. In the circular expo they will show their product, idea or project. Noticeable objects will be two city banks 3D printed form plastic household waste, winning design from the designathon school challenge, objects from Peerby and sustainable products from HvA and Amsterdam Innovation Arena. Together we work on becoming and staying a circular city.
It is important to provide a podium for innovative practitioners of the circular city. That way we can promote their work and spread the idea of the circular economy. For residents and companies of Amsterdam it is interesting to learn what the city does in the field of circular economy. That way we, our children and other organisations might get inspired to live more circular and sustainable as well.
The circular economy is the tool to make Amsterdam sustainable. The circular economy achieves this by closing the loop: only use renewable resources, see waste as a resource, reducing environmental impact and use renewable energy.
What is the result of the project?
The aimed result of the project is to support circular practitioners, increased attention for the circular economy and inform and inspire people to work on creating a circular economy in Amsterdam.
Who initiated the project and which organizations are involved?
Gemeente Amsterdam, team afval, duurzaamheid, facilitair, HVA, AMS, Peerby, AEB, AMFI and growing.
What can other cities learn from your project?
The projects, ideas and products shown are examples of circular activities in a city. Other cities can use them as inspiration or contact.
