Amsterdam ArenA more energy efficient with battery storage

Featured image

Amsterdam ArenA signed a 10-year deal with Nissan, Eaton and The Mobility House to provide back-up power from second life Nissan LEAF batteries. The xStorage Buildings system efficiently stores and distributes energy when it’s needed.
By repurposing batteries from previously used electric vehicles, the xStorage Buildings system can draw energy from the grid, providing businesses with more control, better value and a more sustainable choice for their energy consumption.

It would be interesting to know who will lead the way and with what chemical combination of materials being used in the production of batteries.....Maybe it will be BASF, maybe IBM Labs with their seawater element or even smart guys from MIT and Rice Universities.
I guess time will tell.
