What is the goal of the project?

Waternet is researching and organising a living (governance) lab with a view to creating a circular city with a focus on water, energy and raw materials. This involves performing action-oriented research into (water) governance in relation to new water technology, including decentralised water initiatives. Pilots, organisations and knowledge generate new insights in practice. The focus is on opportunities in which centralised and decentralised water systems work together and learn how to create a sustainable water chain. Is is also demonstrated how a knowledge action system can contribute to this.

What is the result of the project?

In 2018, there will be a better exchange of knowledge between researchers, innovators, policy officers, administrators and entrepreneurs.
Insight will also be acquired into governance strategies in a dynamic context.

Exploratory scenarios will also have been developed in relation to the urban (water) cycle.

Who initiated the project and which organizations are involved?

Waternet, Watercycle Research Institute (KWR), Amsterdam Water Science
