7e monitor internationale voorbeelden aanpak corona

Smart Cities The Economic and Social Value of Building Intelligent Urban Spaces

A 2016 publication with a high vendor and top-down level approach.

Interesting to see how most smart cities have evolved their approaches:

from top - down to bottom - up
from centralised to decentralised
from municipality to community

from supplier to user and citizen centric
from solution orientated to problem orientated
from tech push to demand pull
from PPP to triple double helix (quintuple helix)
from 'capex' to 'opex'

from old fashioned consultancy roadmap to learning by doing
from 'talking the talk' to 'walking the walk'
from planning to design
from assessment to information
from physical to digital
from linear to circulair
from ownership to availability

from fossils to clean, creating sustainable options for ALL
from single use to restorative and regenerative use od resources
from closed to open using tech for social value
from crowded and polluting to smart and sustainable mobility solutions

last but not least: from 'EGO-systems' to 'ECO-systems'
(credit for this last one to Emil Boc, former Prime Minister of Romania and is the current Mayor of Cluj-Napoca, the largest city of Transylvania)

CURA: Open Source Design for emergency COVID-19 hospitals

CURA (Connected Units for Respiratory Ailments) aims to convert shipping containers into plug-in Intensive-Care Pods for the COVID-19 pandemic. The units could be as fast to mount as a hospital tent, but as safe as an isolation ward, thanks to biocontainment with negative pressure. The first unit – whose open-source design has been initiated by an international task force of architects, engineers, doctors, military experts and NGOs and is open to further contributions - is currently being built in Milan, Italy, with the sponsorship of UniCredit.

Best - independent & trustworthy global smart city ranking

Has anyone good experiences with independent global smart city rankings that are trustworthy in a sense that you don’t pay to be in their top ten or need to pay for an assessment?
Focus areas / criteria: investment in human and social capital, holistic approach, citizen centric & engagement
Smart City is the broadest way of speaking: liveable city, sustainable city, innovative city, digital city, (resilient city?)

What’s your opinion on:
1) https://www.imd.org/smart-city-observatory/smart-city-index/
2) https://www.eiu.com/topic/liveability

Many thanks in advance for your reaction.

Telcos that are leading in smart city initiatives

I would like to know of there are any telcos that take the lead in Smart City initiatives. I am not looking for telcos that participate in or facilitate in projects but looking for telcos that take the overall lead in smart city developments.
To be a bit more specific: looking for examples of telcos who positions themselves in the smart city market strategically and want to be or act as as platform for a smart city.
Are there any telcos who have an active investment policy for smart cities (and not just projects)?
After some research I can only find telcos involved in projects, but I can't find any strategic approach.
Many thanks in advance.
