Biogas and fertiliser made in a residential area in Amsterdam North

The area of Buiksloterham will be the first area in Amsterdam were bio gas and fertilizer will be derived locally from the residential sewer system. This special vacuum system separates the dirty black water, full of nutrients, from the less poluted but warm grey water. The local floating plant will be powered with locally produced biogas. If this large scale test, more than 600 homes are connected, is successful, this system might be copied to other areas.
