WDCD No Waste Challenge

What Design Can Do (WDCD) has launched the No Waste Challenge in partnership with IKEA Foundation. They are calling on creatives and innovators to submit their impactful solutions to reduce waste and to rethink the entire production and consumption cycle.

The No Waste Challenge offers three global design briefs for participants to consider. Each brief addresses a different part of the harmful take-make-waste cycle while being broad enough to allow for diverse perspectives. Applicants can focus on one specific brief, or find that more briefs are relevant for them. Participants will be judged by an international jury of leading experts in design, climate action, and social impact, based on the main criteria of: impact, creativity & design, feasibility, and scalability.

Award package:

  • Prize fund of €10.000
  • 6-month accelerator programme co-created with Impact Hub Amsterdam
  • Chance to present their projects to a global audience during one of WDCD’s annual events on design and innovation
  • Publicity via all WDCD platforms & partners

Rethink waste through design! Designers and entrepreneurs with innovative ideas to fight waste can submit their solutions until 1 April 2021.
