Amsterdam Smart City joined De Groene Bocht with the principal aim of knowledge exchange, network sharing and, like all the other participating organisations, to contribute towards the further sustainability of De Groene Bocht. De Groene Bocht also took part in Amsterdam Smart City's Monumental Buildings Project. The purpose of the project was to find out which technologies and methodologies are practical when it comes to rendering monument buildings on the canals.

What is the goal of the project?

The purpose of the project was to find out which technologies and methodologies are practical when it comes to rendering monumental buildings. The shared office building, De Groene Bocht, was a part of this pilot. De Groene Bocht is a cooperative of complementary organisations that are frontrunners in sustainable innovation.

What is the result of the project?

De Groene Bocht is the inspiration centre par excellence for companies, private individuals and government authorities in the field of sustainable living, working and enterprise. It is an initiative of Cool Endeavour, an organisation that brings sustainable-oriented companies together to bundle their strengths and to collaborate as a cooperative. The unique composition of the participating companies makes De Groene Bocht the specialist in the field of sustainability. The building shows that it is possible to do business profitably both in terms of economics and ecologically. A meeting point of sustainable companies, and their products that could be applied directly to the practice, was created in the Keizersgracht in Amsterdam.

Who initiated the project and which organizations are involved?

The participating companies in De Groene Bocht include Cube Architects, De Betere Wereld, Green Inc., Lemnis, Neutralco, Tendris, Remotion, Wij Zijn Koel, Urgenda, AdZero, and Zestiq. The Amsterdam Smart City office was located here as well.
