Beyond take-make-waste cities

Here is my contribution to the week of circular economy. Our cities reflect the “take-make-waste principle”, which is still dominating our economy. Amsterdam too, although the city is making progress towards circularity. This article might contribute to your understanding of circularity, it explains what cities can do and what Amsterdam is doing.

In short: Make Waste Priceless. Price the shadow costs into all products, drop all VAT tax on labour, enforce the Right to Repair. Automatic result is a regenerative economy. It's that simple. The thing I just can't figure out why politicians simply love to go and make it so very "complicated". It's not. Cut the chase & stop the waste.
