The neighborhood that wants to "hack the city"

Le Monde wrote about Amsterdam, and the district of Buiksloterham, where residents are using their neighborhood as a laboratory for a sustainable and decentralized city.

"Our ambition, with this district, is to hack the city, in the sense that we want that it really belongs to the inhabitants. The idea is that we can have control and influence on our water, electricity, mobility or waste recovery infrastructure. That we can, between neighbors, exchange goods or services, share a car , build our houses." - Frank Alsema, inhabitant of Buiksloterham
