We've just launched the delivery pilot for Ozarka: a prepared foods service coming to Amsterdam where all our packaging is sustainable alternatives to single-use plastic and all of it is returnable and reusable. We're accepting new participants for both residential and corporate customers in Amsterdam. Email me to join or find out more! beth@ozarka.biz

What is the goal of the project?

80% of all plastic pollution is food packaging. This is because most food packaging is single-use plastic.

What is the result of the project?

This pilot aims to show a food packaging and delivery model that is sustainable yet does not sacrifice convenience.

Who initiated the project and which organizations are involved?

Beth and Michael Massa, Co-Owners of Ozarka plus our catering partners.

What is the next step?

After the pilot is completed, we will be soliciting feedback from our customers to see which sustainable packaging materials they preferred (we're testing silicone, glass, and stainless steel), and see how they felt about the return-for-deposit model. From there, we will invest in the preferred materials and expand the service both in B2B and B2C formats.

What can other cities learn from your project?

We are unique in that we are the first foods service that shares the burden of food packaging waste management with our customers. This model scales easily and we can show other cities how to adopt and implement this model thorugh key partnerships.
