Dear Sir or Madam,
I am a post-graduate student in M. Sc. Global Sustainable Cities, coordinated by the Institute for Future Cities, at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Scotland.
I am very keenly interested in issues concerning a sustainable future in cities in order to enable a better quality of life. Considering that Amsterdam is often considered a role model for its liveability, I would be very interested in Amsterdam's solutions to urban issues and how these are transferred to other cities.
In our third term, in place of a traditional dissertation, we undertake two work-based placements that support our studies from the previous two terms and help us gain some real-world experience. Placements usually are about four weeks in length, but are very flexible according to each partner's needs or the project timeline. The placements are unpaid and I would be available to start from 17th of April. The intention is that for the partner, the student is able to assist in delivery of an activity or piece of research which adds value to you, whilst for the student the project is an opportunity to put knowledge into practice whilst developing highly desirable professional skills. Negotiating the topic and scope is a key element of the project and it is anticipated that this will be led by the partner. Alongside assisting the partner in delivery of a task, the student is required to submit to the University a report based on the project. This is not the output for the partner but connects their practical experience with the academic literature and their learning from the other parts of the MSc course.
Please do not hesitate to contact me on sissar@outlook.com .
Kind Regards,
Seema Issar

Sensemakers Workshop DIY Smart Glasses

During this evening Paul Stefaan Mooij will introduce the DIY Smart Glasses he developed, he is bringing several 'arms'. The PMSG kit lets you swap out those boring old arms from your (sun)glasses for a custom-made PCBA that looks and functions like something a hacker MacGyver would dream up. It fits just like the original—using the same hinges, screws, and probably duct tape somewhere—but now you’ve got space for sensors, connectors, and all the IoT magic you can pack onto your temples.
Join us to experiment, learn and envision new sensors and possibilities.
