Looking for community organisations in Amsterdam that deal with climate adaptation!

I am currently conducting research on climate adaptation strategies in London and Amsterdam for the university of Amsterdam. I am approaching this topic from a social justice lens, i.e. understanding how the city is incorporating social justice in its climate adaptation strategies and policies.

I am currently looking for community organisations that are involved in projects that are directly or indirectly involved with tackling the urban heat island effect. This could be projects that seek to increase green spaces, improve how homes perform during heatwaves or even raise awareness on these issues in their community.

Any help is appreciated!

Smart City projects in Netherlands/Amsterdam

Hello! I do some research for my company and I have to find out who (companies) are the players in the Smart City market (Netherlands/Amsterdam) who have successfully implemented projects without specializing in just one solution - so here I'm looking who offer complete smart city offers that combine several solutions (e-waste, e- bike, e-mobility, smart bench, smart light, smart parking….)? Thank you!

Looking for smart grids or smart buildings internship opportunities

For my master degree in engineering, I am looking for an internship in the smart grids or smart buildings fields. It will start in April 2021 and last 4 to 5 months. My subjects of study are energy (electricity, Heat transfer, renewable energies) and IT (programming, embedded systems, IOT). I want to use my skills to help your community on any project related to energy. I'm particularly interested in programming and IOT.
Currently, I'm working on a smart street light network project. The idea is to design energy efficient street lights that communicate with one another and prevent night time disorders by recording any noise over a given threshold and pushing the data to a supervisor.
Feel free to contact me if you need any further informations.
Warm regards,
Aymeric

Interest in district heating or Industrial waste heat recovery projects

Hi all,
do you know about a district heating or Industrial waste heat recovery project, that might want to have some energetic help?

I just finished my interdisciplinary Bachelor of Business Administration and Engineering with the focus on energy technology and quality management at the faculty of resource management in Gottingen, Germany with my thesis about the use of industrial waste heat in the paper industry. In September I will start the master's programme Sustainable Development Track Energy and Materials at Utrecht University.

And starting from right now I would be available to support your project!
I would love to learn more about how industrial waste heat recovery projects are realized.

Kind regards,
Leila

Utilize residual heat of data centers

Amsterdam builds more and more data centers. These data centers use up alot of electricity, but also provide a lot of heat. The innovation team of the City of Amsterdam is gathering information concerning how we can use this residual heat for both existing and new buildings. And now we're asking the ASC community for input!

How can we utilize the heat data centers produce? Do you have some inspiring ideas or examples?

Kind regards,
Melchior
