YOUR ROLE
 
The world of e-mobility is evolving rapidly. Not only are battery and hydrogen electric vehicles becoming an integral part to the transport and energy landscape, but the focus on their lifecycle impact and circular economy within the industry’s value chain is also gaining significant traction. Should you join us, you will be leading a small team of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) experts and will be contributing in various research and consultancy assignments. Your daily activities would include:
 
•   Leading a growing team of circular economy and LCA experts, offering guidance and support
•   Managing EU-fundedR&D projects in the field of transport and renewables
•   Conducting research, modelling and analysis of  environmental,  social and  economic  lifecycle impacts of products within the transport and energy industries.
•   Leading the development of eco-design tools, circular economy roadmaps and policy frameworks to support public or private organisations in achieving their circularity goals.
•   Writing project proposals and engaging with prospect clients.
•   Reviewing and writing scientific and public-facing reports
•   Presenting at conferences, organising training sessions and workshops

YOUR PROFILE
 
The role of Circular Economy & LCA Team Lead within Cenex NL encompasses a variety of specialisms. We are seeking a new colleague who meets the following requirements:
 
Essential
•   A minimum of five years in roles related to circular economy consultancy and/or research, or other relevant experience.
•   Relevant   Master’s   degree   (such   as   Industrial   Ecology,   Industrial   Design,   Engineering, Environmental Sciences).
•   Demonstrated project management experience and ability to responsibly manage multiple projects.
•   Experienced in using LCA software to quantify environmental, social and economic impact.
•   Strong affinity/experience with mobility, transport, and energy sectors and related technologies
•   Ability to deliver value and quality to our customers and partners (verbally and written)
•   Self-starter and completer of assignments
•   Willing and able to travel (inter)nationally with some regularity
•   Already living in the Netherlands with an existing work-permit to work in NL Fluent in English, written and spoken
 
Desirable
•   Experience in people management
•   Experience with (EU) funding programmes (such as Horizon Europe)
•   Dutch (at minimum A2 level) and/or additional languages
•   Driving licence

• Je bent student communicatie (hbo of wo)

Wat ga je doen als communicatiemedewerker?

• Je publiceert actuele content op onze website (WordPress) en social media-kanalen (LinkedIn en X)
• Je geeft event-uitnodigingen en de nieuwsbrief vorm in Mailchimp en verzorgt eventregistratie in Eventbrite
• Je helpt bij diverse events en bijeenkomsten
• Je maakt presentaties in Powerpoint

Wat bieden wij?

• Een functie per 1 februari 2024 voor 10 uur per week
• Een werkweek die is aangepast aan je studierooster. Je verdeelt je werktijd flexibel over minimaal 3 dagen (binnen kantooruren)

What:

The AMS Startup Booster is a business idea development and validation program hosted by AMS Institute, aiming to help aspiring entrepreneurs turn their gut feeling into a business. The entrepreneurs are expected to pursue an impact-driven startup in the field of urban tech.

Lasting over 3 months, the AMS Startup Booster 2023 will start on Oct 2023 and run until Feb 2024. The program will be mainly physical at the AMS Institute (Marineterrein, Amsterdam) and is most effective when all teams are fully committed so during the aforementioned time period there is a minimum requirement of 10 hours per week for each startup.

Program:

The curriculum consists of more than 30 workshops, masterclasses and 1on1s focusing on customer discovery and problem-solution fit.

During our workshops the following topics will be addressed:

• Market Research Fundamentals & Problem Definition
• Market Segmentation & Customer Personas
• Customer Discovery
• Value Proposition & Business Model Design
• MVP Design & Prototyping
• Experiment Design
• Pitching

In addition, our complimentary masterclasses will cover topics such as Team Fit & Alignment, Marketing & Branding, IP Rights, Finance & Funding, and many more.

Finally, peer-to-peer sessions and 1-on-1 mentoring by successful entrepreneurs and C-level professionals in your industry will complete the free services we offer to the selected startups. In total, the startups will get a 360 entrepreneurship curriculum consisting of more than 30 workshops & masterclasses.

Demo Day: Pitch and win prizes during the 'finals'

We close off the program with a Demo Day during which the teams showcase their business ideas and prototypes to a broad audience of experts, investors and entrepreneurs and compete for a list of amazing prizes! Prizes include:

YOUR PROFILE
The role of (Technical) Specialist within Cenex NL can cover a range of specialisms at different experience levels. For this role we are looking for a new colleague who meets the following requirements:

• Three to five years of experience in roles related to sustainability consulting or other relevant experience
• Demonstrated project management experience and ability to responsible manage multiple projects
• Experience in using Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) software and other tools to quantify environmental, social and economic impact
• Relevant Master’s degree (such as Industrial Ecology, Industrial Design, Engineering, Environmental Sciences)
• Good understanding of circular economy principles
• Comfortable self-starter and completer of assignments
• Enjoy working in teams, an integral part of many of our projects

What is an Impact Deal?

The City of Amsterdam (Amsterdam Impact) is looking for 10 Amsterdam companies that want to take concrete steps in 2023 towards becoming more sustainable or increasing their social impact.

In an Impact Deal, the entrepreneur and the municipality agree to increase that company's impact by, for example, reducing CO2 emissions by 30 per cent or hiring five job seekers at a distance from the labour market.

The deal must be as concrete as possible, and the entrepreneur should define goals, activities and outcomes. The municipality provides support by offering access to its network and consultations on topics such as financing and access to European funds.

Who is behind the Impact Deals project?

Amsterdam Impact and MKB Amsterdam are the initiators of Impact Deals. The project is part of Local Green Deals, created by the European Commission's Intelligent Cities Challenge.

Provincie Noord-Holland heeft speciaal voor ondernemers zoals jij het GO!-NH versnellingsprogramma ontwikkeld om je te helpen bij het op de markt brengen en opschalen van jouw innovatieve, duurzame product of dienst. Ons doel is om jou te helpen impact te maken op de maatschappij! 

GO!-NH biedt drie verschillende versnellingsprogramma’s die aansluiten bij de fase en omvang waarin je bedrijf zich bevindt: het Accelerator versnellingsprogramma voor startups, het Growth programma voor bedrijven die in de volgende fase zitten en willen groeien, en het Scale programma voor  scale-ups en grotere mkb die nieuwe markten aan willen boren. 

In 3 tot 6 maanden word je verder geholpen met trainingen, tools en professionele coaching door experts. GO!-NH zorgt er ook voor dat je jouw innovatie kunt presenteren aan serieuze investeerders, partners, potentiële klanten en andere relevante partijen in de markt.

Ook meedoen?
Er zijn al tien succesvolle edities van GO!-NH afgerond, en maar liefst 140 bedrijven hebben met hulp van GO!-NH inmiddels hun duurzame innovaties versneld kunnen ontwikkelen. Om mee te doen moet je aan een aantal voorwaarden voldoen.
Je bedrijf is actief in Noord-Holland én in een van de volgende sectoren:

• Energietransitie
• Duurzame Mobiliteit
• Duurzame landbouw en voedsel
• Circulaire Economie

Daarnaast wordt van je verwacht dat je gedurende het versnellingsprogramma (die tussen de 3 en 6 maanden duurt) tijd en mankracht kan vrijmaken voor je deelname. Veel ondernemers gingen je voor en allemaal zijn ze het erover eens: alle tijd die je erin steekt krijg je dubbel en dwars terug!

Upcyclecentrum zoekt circulair ondernemers!

Het Upcyclecentrum bestaat uit drie onderdelen: een recyclingperron, het belevingscentrum en drie ondernemingen die circulaire producten ontwikkelen. Op het recyclingperron worden reststromen ingeleverd die de ondernemers mogen gebruiken als grondstoffen voor nieuwe producten! Nu zijn er in het Upcyclecentrum twee plekken vrij in het circulaire ontwikkelprogramma, voor bevlogen ondernemers met een circulair product of business concept.
 
Lijkt het jou interessant om de reststromen van het recyclingperron in te zetten als grondstoffen voor jouw onderneming? Dan is dat een mooie kans! Gedurende 2 jaar ga je aan de slag met een nieuw product, concept of business model. Hierin krijg je begeleiding door middel van een ontwikkelprogramma. Het GO!-NH Scale traject is gericht op Scale-ups en MKB-bedrijven die goed ontwikkeld zijn in hun huidige markt en klaar zijn om hun innovatie op te schalen naar nieuwe markten of gebieden. In dit traject verkennen bedrijven op welke nieuwe markten ze gaan focussen en wat daarbij komt kijken. GO!-NH Scale bereidt de organisatie voor op flinke groei sprongen door het uitwerken van een goede ‘go-to-market’ strategie en individuele begeleiding door experts. Dit traject duurt 6 maanden en bevat individuele coaching en 10 workshopdagen. GO!-NH Scale start in september 2022. Inschrijven voor 12 september!

Over Space & Matter
Space&Matter is een Amsterdams ontwerpbureau voor ruimtelijk en strategisch ontwerp in de gebouwde omgeving. Met een integrale benadering werken wij aan complexe opgaven van gebouw tot gebiedsontwikkeling. Duurzaamheid en maatschappelijke impact staan hierbij altijd centraal. Je kent ons misschien van circulaire broedplaats De Ceuvel, Het Sweets Hotel (in de Amsterdamse brugwachtershuisjes) en de drijvende wijk Schoonschip.

Naast deze Amsterdamse projecten, die over de hele wereld bekendheid hebben verworven, werken wij internationaal aan projecten die een steentje bijdragen aan een circulaire maatschappij en een inclusieve leefomgeving.

Met onze projecten, concepten en initiatieven willen wij echt game-changing zijn en bijdragen aan een duurzame toekomst. Hier analyseren we het systeem achter de gebouwde omgeving en ontwikkelen we tools en methoden die mensen, organisaties en ideeën bij elkaar brengen om de leefbaarheid van steden te verbeteren, nu en in de toekomst. We richten ons op de commons, coöperatieve modellen, community land trust, circulariteit, tools voor digitale governance, sociale en ecologische meetinstrumenten en de donuteconomie in de gebouwde omgeving.

Ons onderzoek sluit vaak aan bij subsidieprogramma's waarmee we onze inspanningen kunnen financieren en bovendien verwachten we dat met de verschuiving naar circulaire en sociaal inclusieve benaderingen in de gebiedsontwikkeling we een toename zullen zien van de vraag naar onze kennis en tools.

We hebben momenteel een klein, toegewijd team en we zijn klaar om onze impact te vergroten.

Over de rol
Als onderzoeker breng je structuur aan in de maatschappelijke uitdagingen in de gebouwde omgeving en gebruik je wetenschap, logica en praktijkervaring om deze te ontleden in praktische, schaalbare oplossingen. Het is jouw taak om kennis te vergaren over eigendomsmodellen en bestuursprocessen en deze te vertalen naar heldere tools en instrumenten voor projectontwikkelaars, architecten, gemeenten en burgers.

Jouw verantwoordelijkheden omvatten:

• Schrijven en aanvragen van subsidies (in NL en EU)
• Ontwikkelen van “thought leadership” over onze meest relevante thema's (Coöperatief model, Community land Trust-model, bestuursmodellen, circulariteit in de gebouwde omgeving)
• Onze kennis over de commons implementeren in nieuwe concepten voor gebouwen en gebieden
• Presentaties geven voor verschillende doelgroepen
• Artikelen schrijven en publiceren over het onderzoeksdomein
• Opbouwen van een sterk netwerk met de academische wereld en kennisinstituten

Wie zijn wij?
Amsterdam Smart City is een onafhankelijk innovatieplatform dat innovatieve bedrijven, kennisinstellingen, maatschappelijke organisaties, overheden en proactieve bewoners samenbrengt en de stad van de toekomst vormgeeft.

Dit doen wij met een netwerk van 27 partners die werken aan een betere, duurzame en toekomstbestendige wereld. Daarnaast hebben we een internationale community van meer dan 8000 pioniers en innovatie professionals die elkaar op de verschillende thema’s ontmoeten en verder helpen. Door al deze partijen te verbinden, en met hen het gesprek te voeren over de grote uitdagingen in onze regio, komen we tot innovatieve oplossingen die bijdragen aan betere straten, buurten en steden.

Wij zijn ervan overtuigd dat de veranderingen die nodig zijn voor de vooruitgang van de stad en regio alleen gerealiseerd kunnen worden door samen te werken. Onze activiteiten zijn daarom gericht op het faciliteren van deze samenwerking, zodat partijen samen tastbare en duurzame innovaties tot stand kunnen brengen. Amsterdam Smart City richt zich met name op vier transitieopgaves: mobiliteit, de digitale stad, energie en circulaire economie.

Wat ga je doen?
Binnen het Amsterdam Smart City netwerk krijg jij glansrol in het realiseren van innovatie samenwerkingen. Dit doe je zowel als verbinder als aanjager. Als verbinder breng je onze diverse partners samen op verschillende onderwerpen binnen de thema’s Energie en Circulair. Je haalt op wat er speelt en probeert de behoeften, knelpunten, lopende initiatieven en potentiële oplossingen te vertalen tot een gezamenlijk en gedragen vraagstuk.

Vervolgens help jij als aanjager de partners verder om hier samen mee aan de slag te gaan. Daarvoor organiseer je verschillende soorten bijeenkomsten met onze partners, en mogelijk andere partijen. Deze bijeenkomsten stellen hen in staat om het vraagstuk stapsgewijs op te lossen. Jij ondersteunt het proces, mede vanuit je inhoudelijke kennis, zodanig dat de samenwerking daadwerkelijk tot concrete gezamenlijke resultaten leidt. Denk hierbij aan een innovatieve pilot, een onderzoek, een participatie traject of een reeks kennisbijeenkomsten waar de partners vervolgens mee verder gaan.

Taken

• Je onderhoudt en bouwt een netwerk van partners binnen de thema’s energie en circulaire economie; 
• Je verbindt, mobiliseert en activeert partners, communityleden en andere relevante stakeholders. Soms ook internationaal; 
• Je organiseert co-creatie sessies, workshops, en andere fysieke en online events die de partners in staat stellen om op complexe vraagstukken samen te werken; 
• Je helpt het team in hun voortgang op andere transitieopgaves, events en programmaonderdelen; 
• Je helpt bij de doorontwikkeling van onze innovatie-instrumenten en -processen om tot samenwerking te komen; 
• Je maakt inhoudelijke kennis en resultaten zoveel mogelijk zichtbaar, samen met het team.

Wie ben jij?
Wij zoeken een collega met een nieuwsgierige, onderzoekende instelling die anderen aanzet tot nadenken en actie. Gedreven in het creëren van maatschappelijke waarde en een echte aanpakkers mentaliteit. Iemand die in staat is de ideeën, kennis en ervaring van individuele partijen samen te brengen tot een geheel waar men gezamenlijk op voort kan bouwen.

Profiel

• Opleiding of ervaring binnen tenminste een van de thema’s of binnen stedelijke innovatie in algemene zin; 
• Kennis van samenwerkingsprocessen en innovatiemethodieken; 
• Ervaring met het organiseren van bijeenkomsten en/of werksessies;
• Enthousiaste, open en bevlogen gesprekspartner; 
• Uitstekende beheersing van de Nederlandse en Engelse taal in woord en geschrift;
• Enkele jaren werkervaring; 
• WO/HBO werk- en denkniveau; 
• Een netwerk binnen ons werkveld is een pre!

The AMS Startup Booster is a business idea development and validation program hosted by AMS Institute, aiming to help aspiring entrepreneurs turn their gut feeling into a business. The entrepreneurs are expected to pursue an impact-driven startup in the field of urban tech.

When:
| Applications should be submitted no later than March 20th |

The program will then start in April and run until June, lasting over 3-months. The format will be hybrid, mainly digital, and where possible live at the AMS Institute (Marineterrein, Amsterdam). The program is most effective when all teams are fully committed so during the aforementioned time period there is a minimum requirement of 16 hours per week for each member.

Program:
AMS Startup Booster's core consists of 6 workshops focusing on customer discovery and problem-solution fit. During these workshops, the following topics will be addressed:

• Team fit
• Market segmentation & Customer personas
• Value Proposition & Business Model Canvas
• Hypotheses testing & Experiment design
• Pitching

In addition, a series of complementary masterclasses, peer-to-peer discussions and coaching sessions will be provided to the selected startups. We will close off with a DEMO DAY where the teams will get to showcase their business ideas and MVPs to a panel of experts and entrepreneurs.

Prizes:
For the 2 winning teams, AMS Startup Booster will offer in-kind prizes of 3K euros worth, which will include the following elements:

• Ongoing mentoring by business development experts
• A dedicated office/working space for the next 5 months
• Business promotion & exposure
• Access to a makerspace and prototyping experts
• Designing a real-life experiment in a living lab to further test the business idea
• Access to a large ecosystem of academics, city officials, private and public organizations.

In addition, connections with other programs and potential investors will be made.

We are looking for ambitious students, researchers, and young professionals who have an awesome business idea that could impact city live and solve metropolitan challenges. Please note we are looking for teams not a single founder.

The Circular City Challenge calls on innovators of the Circular Economy to find answers to the challenges of the transformation to a circular urban system.

To do so, @CircularBerlin, @CircularMunich, @materialkreislauf. und #circonnact  are going on a joint search for circular and innovative approaches to advance the Circular Economy in cities and to explore and implement promising solutions together.

Why: creating greater impact
As a small country, the Netherlands is committed to achieving the world’s sustainable development and climate goals by sharing ideas and working together to overcome challenges. By sharing our knowledge and expertise with our international partners, and learning from others, the Netherlands can create greater impact. That's why we have devised a series of symbolic actions. This symbolic action 'Connected Cities' seeks to help urban areas develop resilience by sharing solutions online.

What: sharing urban ideas and best practices
We are calling on urban innovators, inventors, creatives, makers, startups, scale ups, do-gooders and anyone else with a great idea to share it via the Closer Cities platform. Closer Cities is a non-profit initiative supported by the Easmus Initiative Vital Cities Citizens, the Institute for Housing and Development Studies and Institute for Housing and Urban Development Studies and Leiden - Delft Erasmus Centre for BOLD Cities.

How: What you can do?
Each and every day, the most amazing and impactful developments are made in cities around the globe. But all too often they go unnoticed. This is a real pity, since many of these projects are worth sharing. We need to make great projects that the world should know about more visible. The idea or project needs to meet the following criteria:

• Is this idea shareable and repeatable? 
• Does it address the SDGs, climate change, wellbeing, diversity, youth, housing or education?
• Or does it just make the city a better place?

Projects at any stage of development will be accepted. Remember no Dutch involvement is required. It’s all about cities helping other cities to improve. At the same time, you become part of a bigger movement helping the transition towards creating liveable cities. Closer Cities will conduct scientific research into which factors drive successful sharing. By sharing ideas online, we can help solve global challenges together. If you know about ideas that help achieve the sustainable development goals, address climate change or just make the world a better place, then we want to hear about it on the Closer Cities website.

Ben jij een Amsterdamse ondernemer met impact? Doe dan mee aan de buurtchallenge Boost je Buurt!

Voor Boost je Buurt selecteren Amsterdam Impact en Impact Hub Amsterdam per stadsdeel of stadsgebied 3 à 4 (startende) impact ondernemers die werken aan de maatschappelijke uitdagingen in de stad.

Deze 24 tot 32 ondernemers uit Centrum, Nieuw-West, West, Noord, Oost, Zuidoost, Zuid en stadsgebied Weesp winnen een ondernemersprogramma ter waarde van €2.500,- en maken kans op een aanvullend ontwikkelbudget van €2.500,-, €5.000,- of €7.500,-. Tijdens de finale op 30 juni worden er drie juryprijzen én drie publieksprijzen uitgereikt.

Goed nieuws: er komt per 1 februari een bedrijfsruimte vrij in het Upcyclecentrum.
Voor het Upcylcecentrum in Almere zoeken we een startende ondernemer met een geweldig plan voor een onderneming dat bijdraagt aan onze lokale circulaire economie.

De afgelopen jaren is Almere uitgegroeid tot één van de koplopers van de circulaire economie in Nederland, en het Upcyclecentrum is daar een belangrijk onderdeel van. Bedrijven en overheden vanuit de hele wereld komen naar Almere om te zien hoe wij de circulaire economie vormgeven.

Het Upcyclecentrum bestaat uit drie onderdelen: recyclingperron, ondernemers en belevingscentrum. Op het recyclingperron zamelen we grondstoffen droog in. De gevestigde ondernemers in het Upcyclecentrum mogen deze gebruiken. De ondernemers laten in hun bedrijfsruimte zien wat zij doen met deze grondstoffen. Afgelopen 3 jaar hebben verschillende ondernemers zoals “Ruik”, ‘’SEEFD’’, “Unravelau” en “Ruig & Geroest” al geprofiteerd van deze kans. En er is weer plaats voor een nieuwe startup om eenzelfde ontwikkeling door te kunnen maken.
