Conversations around mobility challenges of the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area - event in Dutch.

Het mobiliteitsvraagstuk in de Metropoolregio Amsterdam is actueler dan ooit. Terwijl Schiphol in 2050 een verdubbeling van het aantal bezoekers verwacht - toeristen die allemaal de Nachtwacht willen zien - vragen wij ons af hoe Amsterdam hierop voorbereid is. Ten westen van de Houthavens komen 70.000 woningen. Hoe komen al die nieuwe bewoners van en naar hun werk? Een holistische visie met een drastisch actieplan is nu nodig want we kunnen niet langer stil staan. Wat wordt de volgende grote stap na de oplevering van de Noord/Zuidlijn in 2018?

De aanwas van het aantal bewoners en bezoekers in de MRA blijft maar toenemen, terwijl noodzakelijke investeringen in infrastructuur voor onze sterk groeiende metropool achterwege blijven. Als we nu niks doen komen we letterlijk en figuurlijk stil te staan. Tijd voor een gesprek waarbij we verdiepen, prioriteren, gebiedsgericht inzoomen, experimenten duiden en onderzoeksresultaten te delen om zo tot een integrale mobiliteitsvisie te komen.

Saving Energy And Reducing CO2 Is Not Enough For This High-Tech City

Raw materials are a finite resource. As the number of industries which rely on these resources increases (e.g. metals for smartphones and tablets) so does the number of consumers. Not only will we start running out of these materials in the coming decades, but the processes involved in their extraction and manufacturing are often harmful to workers, citizens and the environment.

To rely on raw materials is not economically viable in the long term. As stocks run low, the market for the resource becomes increasingly volatile. Every country in the world trades its raw materials, so if one of these links can no longer deliver, the whole supply chain is affected. By 2050, the Dutch government wants the Netherlands to run completely on reusable raw materials. So the city of Amsterdam is testing out a solution: the circular economy.

How can you, as a creative professional, contribute to the development of the circular economy and generate new business for yourself? Join our upcoming CIRCO Circular Design Class to learn how! During this one-day workshop, you will be trained in the field of circular design and learn how to apply it to your work to create circular products and services. De circulaire revolutie binnen de Bouw & Vastgoed sector is begonnen. De bouwsector is momenteel niet toekomstbestendig en is wereldwijd verreweg de grootste verbruiker van grondstoffen (bijna de helft van de verbruikte grondstoffen). Hoe moeten wij Nederland, met een van de hoogste bevolkingsdichtheden ter wereld, nu en in de toekomst bedienen?

Een slimmer en efficiënter grondstoffenmanagement is cruciaal om welvaart blijvend mogelijk te maken. Daarom nodigt CIRCO alle architecten, interieurontwerpers of andere betrokken creative professionals uit de bouw & vastgoed industrie uit om middels de principes van de circulaire economie aan een toekomstbestendige industrie te werken.

CIRCO Circular Design Class

Deze CIRCO design class is toegespitst op de bouwsector als geheel, voor opdrachtgevers en voor de creatieve professional. Tijdens deze eendaagse workshop leer je als creatieve professional in de bouw de ins & outs over‘ circular design’. Wat zijn de principes van de circulaire economie, waarom is het interessant voor jou en je opdrachtgever en hoe neem je als creatieve professional de rol van change agent in? Je gaat concreet aan de slag met circulaire business modellen en ontwerpstrategieën, waarbij het TU Delft onderzoek ‘Products That Last’ vertrekpunt is.

Na 10 jaar en 65 Erfgoedarena's kijken we op 11 oktober waar we staan en welke opties zich voor de toekomst aandienen. Zijn we zelf een nieuwe, hip soort 21-ste eeuws platform geworden? Of moeten we ons als Hubs gaan organiseren?
De Erfgoedarena's startten 10 jaar geleden vanuit de wens om verschillende kanten van het erfgoedveld bij elkaar te brengen. Gesprek en debat op een publieke plek over actuele thema's op de raakvlakken tussen musea, archief en monumentenzorg. Dat kon toen omdat er een nieuwe, sterke koepel en expertisecentrum/ sectorinstituut was ontstaan, Erfgoed Nederland. Dat dekte alle takken van erfgoed af en werkte in de Erfgoedarena's samen met de Reinwardt Academie, de enige hbo opleiding in Nederland die zich kort daarvoor had omgevormd tot een integrale erfgoedopleiding. What would society look like if we assigned a central role to repair? And what happens if we see repair as more than a quick fix? The symposium ‘In Repair: towards a post-throwaway society’ builds on recent studies of repair, which frame the concept in a much broader context.

Activities like mending, renovating, healing, rehabilitating, revitalizing, recovering, curing or hacking help us deal with problems in a social, sustainable, and resourceful way. During this evening we explore how repair thinking could set directions for a post-throwaway society. A society in which imperfection, broken systems, relations and objects are welcomed rather than shunned; a logic of breakdown bridges past, present and future; and even tax might shift from labour to natural resource use.

We are looking for developers or owners of real estate who want to examine the possibilities of our virtual alternative to storage to replace the (mandatory) storage space in appartment buildings. We believe the virtual storage space is a cheaper, more efficient place to store the items people don't (often) need. Thus making physical storage space in buildings obsolete, and enabling the developer to house more people on the same amount of square meters.

Wij zijn op zoek naar beheerder of ontwikkelaars van appartementencomplexen, die samen met ons willen onderzoeken wat de mogelijkheden zijn voor onze spullen-app om de fysieke bergingsruimtes in dergelijke complexen overbodig te maken.

Onze virtuele berging - een soort cloud of dropbox voor je spullen - is een modern alternatief voor de "gewone" berging bij appartementen. Dergelijke bergingsruimten zijn altijd dezelfde afmeting, terwijl de behoefte van iedere bewoner anders is. Bovendien worden ze gebruikt voor spullen die we bijna nooit nodig hebben. Zonde.
Een virtuele berging groeit met je mee, zodat iedere bewoner de berging krijgt die bij zijn of haar behoefte past. Door de spullen elders te bewaren, blijft er meer ruimte beschikbaar om te gebruiken waarvoor deze nodig is: woonruimte. En door de app hebben mensen hun spullen toch altijd onder het bereik van hun vingertoppen.

Spectral and Alliander have launched a new blockchain-based energy sharing token at De Ceuvel in Amsterdam. Named the ‘Jouliette’, the new token aims to empower individuals and communities to easily manage and share their locally produced renewable energy.

The Jouliette – named after the Joule unit of measurement for energy – is the first such initiative of its kind in the Netherlands. The project aims to become a landmark example of how to harness the capabilities of blockchain technology to create greater social value and to support a bottom-up transition towards a more distributed, robust, and transparent economy, underpinned by 100% renewable energy.

We work to reduce energy consumption in all types of buildings, we have an average energy reduction of 78% compared to traditional systems. I am looking for developers/projects that want to know more about how to reduce energy consumption and be way below the 2020 EU standards.

The system works in both new construction as well as in existing buildings, in both heavy and light construction. It is also compatible with all existing heating sources, as well as solar panels, and battery cells. Innenco customizes the system based on the architecture of each object, as a standard, we will give you an exact calculation on the energy saving if you send us a blueprint of the building.

I work for the electric car company Sono Motors from Germany. We produced an electric solar car - the Sion - that is designed to meet the needs of people living in big cities like Amsterdam, Brussels, Berlin or Paris. It is equipped with 330 solar cells to generate energy for increased mobility and has a complete range of up to 280 km per day.

The reason I am reaching out to you is because we are on a tour across Europe to promote the benefits of electric vehicles.

The city of Amsterdam is the biggest supporter of EV in Europe, that is why my colleagues and the Sion are stopping by on the 1st of October 2017 to offer test drives with our prototype.
