As a startup you can be part of this large scale event in many ways!
There are conferences, pitch opportunities, network events and you can open your office to the public. Do you want an active and substantive role in the program? Send an e-mail to info@amsterdamsmartcity.com with the name of your startup, the days on which you’re available, the themes you are working on and your contact details. Amsterdam Smart City collects the applications, the organization of WeMakeTheCity will be in further contact with you. Deadline is the 30th of April.
For who?
This event about the future city offers a stage to residents, students, entrepreneurs, scientists, government officials and professionals to work on the urban challenges in the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area. WMTC is the successor of the iCapital Award – Innovation capital of Europe – of the European Commission. Amsterdam won this award in 2016. The goal is to make the city better, and everybody can join!
Program
The Wednesday will be all about the State of the Region and the opening of the festival with inspiring international speakers. On Thursday thirty mini conferences focused on urban challenges are taking place. On Friday, we will visit more than 30 areas in development in and around Amsterdam. In the weekend, more than 250 city makers open their doors for the public. There are also lectures, movie screenings, expositions, games, labs and workshops!
Themes
Themes we will focus on are circular economy, health, inclusiveness, mobility, sharing economy, social entrepreneurship, air pollution, tourism/crowds in the city, safety, affordable housing and more.
