This event about the future city offers a stage to residents, students, entrepreneurs, scientists, government officials and professionals to work on the urban challenges in the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area. WMTC is the successor of the iCapital Award – Innovation capital of Europe – of the European Commission. Amsterdam won this award in 2016. The goal is to make the city better, and everybody can join!
The Wednesday will be all about the State of the Region and the opening of the festival with inspiring international speakers. On Thursday thirty mini conferences focused on urban challenges are taking place. On Friday, we will visit more than 30 areas in development in and around Amsterdam. In the weekend, more than 250 city makers open their doors for the public. There are also lectures, movie screenings, expositions, games, labs and workshops!
Themes we will focus on are circular economy, health, inclusiveness, mobility, sharing economy, social entrepreneurship, air pollution, tourism/crowds in the city, safety, affordable housing and more. All the questions the city of the future has to deal with! More information via https://wemakethe.city/.
