We urgently need to rent your "wasstraat" and commercial dishwashers or sublease your space to build our own!

Featured image

Hi All,
Since 2018, Ozarka works every variety of vendor or restaurant replacing disposable food containers with reusables, big or small, doesn't matter. As you can imagine, we are growing like crazy.

Our wash and sanitation model is decentralized. We have one main wash and sanitation facility called the "Sparkle Jar." We install "outposts" or mini-sparkle jars for wash and sanitation rather than build out more huge facilities. There are a variety of reasons for this (all good, more sustainable, and more affordable for our clients).

We need a lot more of these mini centers. SJ3, SJ4, SJ5...you get the idea. We are looking for partners that have the same commercial dishwashers we have that are not used very often Think office canteens, corporate food courts, hotels. Or, do you have water hookups and extra space that is not being used that we can rent out from you?

The most ideal locations are sort of on the outskirts of the centrum but still inside the A10. Hemshaven or Veemkade area...Oost, West, Noord are ideal locations.

The reuse revolution is really starting to take off! Our growth is going straight up and we need the Amsterdam Smart City community to help us expand our logistics by tapping into infrastructure that already exists.

Dear Amsterdam Smart city community

I am reaching out to you to present a bit more of my project of Piss Soap and to ask you to vote and support my project at the New European Bauhaus Prize.
You can follow the link that will lead you to the voting page.

Piss Soap is a finalist in the section of “Rising Stars”, category Shaping a circular industrial ecosystem and supporting life-cycle thinking

Please vote, share and support and make sure to check all the amazing projects around sustainability, inclusivity and a greener future together.

"Piss soap is made entirely out of human activity waste materials, namely wood ashes, used cooking oil and urine. All these materials are easily gathered locally, in Amsterdam. The gathering of material and production of the Piss Soap is locally implemented and redistributed to the public cleaning services as well as the inhabitants. Piss soap has a regenerative impact in our cities, allowing to transform in a creative and useful way, wastes that our cities congregate."

Dagboekstudie: hoe wil jij thuis je afval kwijt?

Featured image

Seeking partnerships to mitigate restaurant packaging waste

Hello ASC community!  We are a local start-up working to increase Conscious Dining through a new way of searching for and rating restaurants.  It is also our goal to go beyond the digital by working on local impact projects.

Recently, we surveyed the 150+ restaurants in our database on the effects of Corona on their sustainability practices, specifically in regards to the increase in packaging waste brought on by takeaway/ delivery services, and published an article on our findings here:  https://www.table-sage.com/content/articles/amsterdam/restaurants-need-support-to-continue-sustainability-efforts-during-covid-19

We would love to collaborate with larger players, either 1) in further quantifying these effects, and/ or 2) in helping restaurants move to ecopackaging on a wider scale.  Are you or someone you know interested in partnering to make moves in this space?  We have a team of 6-8 able to support; more about us can be seen on www.table-sage.com.

Vote for Johnny Cashew @Kraak de Crisis

Did you know that your cashew nuts travel 12.500 km more than is required before it hits the shelves in your supermarket? Johnny Cashew sources cashew nuts directly from Africa (Tanzania, to be precise). Our nuts ensure a good price for the farmers, reduced food miles for transport and from the profit we make we plant cashew trees in Tanzania.
Out nuts taste good, look good and do good!
We look for your support to vote for us at Kraak de Crisis, an initiative that supports new ideas to fight the crisis.
https://www.kraakdecrisis.nl/deelnemers/157
With your vote we can get free advice from PWC and, above all, 25.000 euros to kick off!
Lots of love from Johnny Cashew x

Looking for organic waste disposal solutions

Hi! Next week I will be pitching an idea to separate organic waste in student's dorms. The biggest challenge for this process is to have a big container where the organic waste from one or more buildings can be disposed of in the dense city centre, for instance. Do you know about any solutions or do you have a suggestion of your own? I would love to be hearing about it!
